I made that commute every day for ten months back in 2000-2001. It would take about an hour and twenty minutes (on average) to get from central Colorado Springs to south Denver (Arapaho Road). This was based on leaving CS at about 6:30am to arrive at my job by 8:00am.

During the winter, count on at least one driver going rubber side up with every snow event. This will add to your commute time substantially.....

I knew a guy that made the commute nearly ever day. He didn't mind it in the summer, but hated it in the winter. Spent most of his time watching Accuweather to find out if he was going to be making it home that afternoon or if he'd be putting up in a hotel. Not that it snowed all the time, but moreso because the weather can be so unpredictable, it could snow *any* time.

Monument Hill is really difficult in the wintertime, and will close a few times every winter, preventing you from getting to work at all. That will make life challenging. Just remember that you could also end up being one of the cars turned over on the side of the road that you see almost every snow day on Monument. If you're in a job that allows you to occasionally work from home on bad weather days, that would probably help.

Personally, I wouldn't do it unless I absolutely had to. But maybe you have no choice, in which case grit your teeth and bear it until you can move closer.

Too far to do daily, IMO, and too risky to do in the winter.
