I enjoyed Palm Beach County, less humidity coming off the Atlantic

Where are you planning on driving to? The drive to CO Springs through Castle Rock, maybe Golden, Morrison, Evergreen - are some scenic towns - close to town.
just some suggestions.
We're usually pretty nice over here in Tampa except for July & Aug. This year seems more humid than usual, but it could just be because I was out west for a bit and remembered what it was like with no humidity

I'm basically just going to wander all over the Denver area, to get feel for it, see if I like it. Drive in traffic (seriously, I arrive at rush hour), wander around neighborhoods, check out some apartments, pick up some bus/train route maps - things you really can't do on the internet. There are also some things I'll be looking for to verify if my take on the job market is accurate or not (you can tell a lot about an area job environment by simply looking at the types and quantity of commercial space present and available). I'm looking forward to visiting. I see quite a few similarities to Dallas (and even Tampa), and I like both of those places. I'll be surprised if I don't like Denver.

So....any good Mongolian BBQ places out there?

Actually those towns you just listed such as Montbello, would tell you what central Tampa looks like, but much bigger (east of 275)
Colfax = Nebraska Ave.

I'm planning on printing out the posts of areas not suggested for wandering But how much worse than Miami can Denver be? There used to be sections on the Interstate that were marked with a specific graphic so the non-English speaking visitors (French, German, etc) would know it was a safe exit to use. I guess the unmarked exit neighborhoods complained, as the graphics have since been removed.

Compared to Miami? Not much to worry about in Denver.

Welcome to Denver. We moved from Brandon, FL a little over a year ago and love it here. Be prepared for the worst headaches imaginable (even if you drink lots of water). Coming from sea-level is quite a shock to your system. Also, go buy lots of good body lotion and prepare to put it on after you take a shower every day! You'll also not be able to get enough water in your body. I pretty much stood over the sink with a drinking glass in my hand for the first 4 months we lived here!

Now that being said, get ready for stress-free driving. You'll hear complaints from people about the rush hour here, but after living in Florida you'll find it kind of funny...and wonder, "what rush hour?" Also, people (for the most part) go the speed limit here. If you go 5 mph over, you'll find yourself in the fast lane. After living in Florida, we moved here and were absolutely FLYING by people and we'd look down to find ourselves going 10 over the limit (slow for FL standards). It took us a while to slow down. Also, get ready for outdoor living. I always found it so weird that so few people were outside in FL but everyone is outside in the early evenings walking their neighborhoods, hiking in the moutains, mountain biking and skiing. That's why there are so few truly obese people here. I was shocked to see how many (excuse my crudeness...) FAT people were in FL...(mostly wearing bikinis on the beach). Here I feel like the fattest mom in my daughter's class...and I'm not really even overweight. We have found that we are really enjoying living here in Denver, though we do miss the beaches and all of the great theme parks (since we have little kids). Overall, I think you'll like it here too if you keep an open mind and prepare yourself for the dryness.

Don't bother, there are no unsafe areas including those listed above.

The post you just replied to is over a year old. Yukon ended up moving to Albuquerque and is happy there.
