quick question on Aurora location
From what I've been reading on the discussions here, I think this is a good part of Aurora, but I thought I'd ask just in case...I'm booking a room at the Radisson in Aurora, description says "the hotel is across the street from Denver's Light Rail station. Adjacent to the 4,000-acre Cherry Creek State Park"; from the map it looks like it's at Parker & Cherry Creek Dam Rd. Is this a good area for a female traveling alone?
Thanks!

One more question, from forum comments it seems I should skip the mall in Aurora, so what malls are the better ones? I already know about the mill outlet mall. Thanks again!

You would be near Parker and 225 at that hotel. It is a good area but it is very congested.
For mall shopping, I would say go south to I-25 and County Line/C470 to Park Meadows mall... much nicer and safer than Aurora mall.
I think the light rail goes out there too.

Southlands would be closest to you @ Smoky Hill & E-470, Park Meadows @ County Line & Yosemite/C-470/I-25, Cherry Creek @ University & Speer, Flat Irons off 36 (the road to Boulder.)

check out the Southlands
If you want to experience the lovely Colorado weather, I'd vote for the Southlands, as it's an outdoor mall. There are great places to eat, plus nice "stops" along the main street to people watch and just enjoy the atmosphere. Park Meadows is also very nice, but it is indoors and not quite as dynamic (in my humble opinion!). Enjoy your time here!

i think southlands open about 1.5 yrs ago. Your location is ok but if I were visiting here I'd recommend staying somewhere slightly more central... i htikn you can get decent room rates near Cherry Creek on Colorado ( four points, holiday inn to name a couple decent places). That way you'd be closer to cherry creek mall as well as downtown. You mentioned biking, running in an earlier post and that way you would also be able to see the Cherry Creek bike path, etc...Have fun when you are here!

I'm renting a car and plan on driving ALL over Denver while I'm there, so "centrally" located isn't a big concern. Thanks for the tip on the Southlands Mall, I'll have to check it out Can't wait - y'all are 95/65 temps, we're 94/78 temps but 88% humidity - ack! I should never have visited Phoenix & Albuquerque earlier this summer....every morning I get hit with a wet blanket when I walk out the door and I ask myself, "Self, WHY did you move down here?"

I think I've heard that question a few times
I enjoyed Palm Beach County, less humidity coming off the Atlantic
Where are you planning on driving to? The drive to CO Springs through Castle Rock, maybe Golden, Morrison, Evergreen - are some scenic towns - close to town.
just some suggestions.
