In all fairness the cost of living in Colorado is substantially lower than in the Boston area. You don't need to have as much money to buy things here so it can seem more materialistic, but it's also more possible. In other words, less people have the financial option to be materialistic in the Boston area.

well marijuana is legal here, ...pretty much, so I would say yes, there are laid back people here.
