Hello,

I was hoping to find some advice from some locals on a specific area near City Park. The area I am considering moving to is at 16th and High Street.

I just relocated here and will be living alone in a 1br apartment alone. I have found one which I think is quite nice but wanted to check in to get some additional opinions. I have only lived here for a couple of weeks and don't have the neighborhood all figured out yet! My concern is that I will be working some long hours and will be walking to the apartment alone after dark (from my car).

I would appreciate anyone's advice.

Thanks!

I've spent time in this area during the day but not at night so I don't know if the neighborhood changes much after dark. The only negatives that I encountered in that area was a man asking me for money and then getting angry when I said "no" and seeing people do drugs right by that elementary school that is closed (Wyman?).

That said I do know a couple of people who live in this area and they really like it. They feel like it was a safe area overall.

You can look up crime stats here: 2010 Statistical Neighborhood Detail I think the name of that neighborhood is City Park West but I'm not 100% sure.

You should be fine in that area, albeit maybe a few sketchballs asking for some money.
