But then again, I am a Trader Joe's fan so according to some folks on here I am a little "off" anyway...

Denver is missing the one and only TONY, the Antlered Chamataka, the Handsome Hindu, the Sagebrush Swami, who left our fair state for the horrors of NC. Woe is us.

Very cool. Hopefully non-stop to Paris and Tokyo are next.

Maybe Dunkin will come back to Denver. One of my friends who is also from the NE is crossing her fingers. They have franchising opportunities in Denver

EEEEEEEE! (That was a squeal of girlish glee.) I like them for their breakfast sandwiches. I've been making do with Starbucks or McDonalds, but really Dunkin Donuts' egg, ham and cheese on an english muffin is the one I like. I couldn't care less about their doughnuts, frankly.

But I've figured since I got here, that they (or their franchisees) simply don't feel like competing with the local joints. Between DazBog and Starbucks and all the wonderful indie places around here, I think it's just not a desirable market for them. We'll see if someone takes them up on the franchising opportunity, I guess!

I saw a segment on 9News the other day that said something about Dunkin' Donuts planning to re-enter the Denver market by 2013.

Like we've mentioned before, if you reallllllllly want Dunkin right now, there are a few down in the Springs.

Meh. I don't LOVE their food. But when I needed a breakfast sandwich back home at 6 am, they were my go-to, and it tasted way better than my other fast food morning options here, while still being reasonably healthy and cheap. No way I'm driving to the Springs for that though, since cost and convenience were the main "pros" Deadlines are rough without a DD nearby, however.

Oh, and just to get us back on the topic of Trader Joe's, I overheard people at Peet's today talking about how they can't believe that Des Moines, IA, has a Trader Joe's, and Denver doesn't. I laughed (to myself) because it made me think of this thread.
