So many options dont know what to do? Definately need to be able to work; so a flexible schedule is a must; but not necessarily online courses. I would prefer evening classes. Also would prefer an affordable but family oriented suburb in the general area for a family of 5. Looking for industrial or manufacturing job untill I am able to find an internship as an accountant later down the road.

CU (Boulder), CSU (Fort Collins), and DU (south/central Denver) have the best programs with the best employer recognition. Like with most programs, CU Boulder's Leeds School of Business is #1 in the state. Other than that, the only other choices in the Denver area either CU Denver (a branch commuter campus located downtown) or Regis (NW Denver).

There's also Metro State as an option. Realistically, the choices would be CU-Denver, Metro State, Regis, and DU. For maximum flexibility you'd want to look at CU-Denver, Metro Sate, and Regis.

Cost-wise? Metro State.

Reputation-wise? DU (for accounting).

Thank you! Any advice on a family oriented community near denver that possibly has the potential for finding a job in manufacturing, production, or simply a full time job that pays 10-15 an hour?

Have you looked through Craigslist Denver? I have found numerous call center jobs and such for the Denver area that start at 10 an hour full time. A few with better pay. You may apply and base your location around but not directly under those areas. There is bound to be some form of pattern where they are located.

Unfortunately, Denver just isn't a big manufacturing town.

In Colorado there are 9 colleges that are accredited by AACSB, considered the gold standard of business school accreditation. There are only 633 accredited programs world-wide.

Colorado State Univ.-Fort Collins
Colorado State Univ.-Pueblo
Univ. of Colorado-Boulder
Univ. of Colorado-Colorado Springs
Univ. of Colorado-Denver
Ft. Lewis (Durango)
Univ. of Northern Colorado (Greeley)
Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs)
Univ. of Denver (Denver)

Of those 9, only 3 colleges - CU-Denver, Univ. of Denver, and the Univ. of Northern Colorado - hold AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting, something only 177 programs world-wide can boast.

AACSB accreditation for the business school as a whole is important, but AACSB accreditation for the accounting program is practically irrelevant in the real world. CU Boulder, even though it's not AACSB accredited in accounting, absolutely trumps UCD in accounting-- most of the Big 4 public accounting firms and large national firms don't even bother recruiting from UCD, but they all hire many grads from CU Boulder.
