Parker does actually have a lot of what you are asking for. It's really easy access to E-470 Toll Road which is about a 25 min ride to DIA. Yes it is a toll but so worth it when you see the traffic on I-25 and other ways to get out to the airport. It is suburbs but it has more character than Highlands Ranch and there is still a good amount of open space around. You could live in a typical tract home and be somewhat close to neighbors or you can look on the east side of Parker Road and get a little land. Parker has several rec centers which include an outdoor skate park, gyms, rock climbing wall, indoor/outdoor pools and more. You can pretty much attend any community college but I know that Arapahoe Community College has a new campus right off Lincoln and Chambers. They have a brand new Costco off Parker near E-470. Close to Park Meadows mall shopping and Southlands in SE Aurora.
