80k is definitely doable. If you're planning to buy you'll be looking at a starter type home or one of the older homes that may need a little fixing. Can get more bang for your buck in Parker closeby.

I'd say $80k is definitely doable, but it depends on where you are financially beyond your income. Do you have zero debt or do you have 2 car payments plus a couple of credit cards to pay on each month?

We're moving to HR in 2 weeks and I will be making a little more than $80k and are renting a 5BDR house for about $2300 a month. I have seen a bunch that are 4BDR in the $1500 range. Do the math, if you can get by with a nice buffer every month then you're good to go. If it's going to be down to the wire each month, I am not sure I'd want to be in that situation.
