Cool Denver Snow - help me out!

I'm looking into moving from San Diego to Denver....PLEASE fill me in the amount of snow Denver receives.....specifically Highlands Ranch and/or Caslte Rock, and also Broomfield (to the north)???

I know last year was a bit worse than normal, so aside from that, how often is there a debilitating snow storm, or is it usually some light snow, and the roads are still clear?.....I do understand a blizzard will come every now and then, but I'm more interested in the Winter-Spring snow!

Thanks!

There is lots of information on this topic in the forum. Do a search. Snow amounts vary from place to place, but in general, the seasonal averages similar.

you get a snowstorm a few times a year. it doesn't take too long for the roads to clear after it snows, usually one day, unless the snow is still falling.

but if you have a normal job, you will have to drive on snow/ice from time to time. there's really no avoiding it. your car will slide occasionally, hopefully not too much. i'd invest in some snow tires if i were you. hopefully you don't have a RWD car or a small car. drive slow.

also, make sure you have plenty of windshield wiper fluid and make sure your wipers are in good condition. when snow is on the road, bad wipers can smear dirt across the windshield making it very hard to see. visibility during a snowstorm tends to be pretty bad, especially at night when the light from your headlights is reflecting off the snowflakes and into your eyes. you will also need an ice scraper for your windshield.
