Just missed the good pair of blizzards we had. Hopefully you'll be here for a blizzard this year.

Flew in for our week-long scouting trip on Dec 3, 2006. There was a decent snowcover that entire time, but no snowfall, just sun and 40's/50s.

Flew out Dec 10, 2006. Got out well in time.

I think it was the 19th when it started to snow. We (the family) raced out of town after a closing to get to the grandparents for the holidays. Got as far as Rifle when we had to call it a night.

Coming back after Christmas was another long story. We decided to go the southern route to avoid a I-70 or I-80 drive. We were stranded for 3 days in Santa Fe - the storm closed I-25.

New Mexico's record or snowfall was 9 inches in a single month, got 14 in two days. We went to Target for an ice scrapper. They had none. And no gloves, or boots either.

Olive Garden, where we could walk to from the hotel, ran out of food on day 3.

My neighbors had plowed the driveway - over 35 inches remained, and snow drifts of more than 6 feet were plentiful. It was near the end of February when all the snow finally melted.

LOL might have been the 19th...all I know is it started snowing the day I had a 16 yr old with an appt at the dmv to take her driver's test. Lucky for her she had thevery first appt. She was absolutely convinced I had conspired with TPTB /mother nature and God to limit her driving that winter....

I love snow but I'd like to enjoy a few weeks of autumn leaves before it hits.
Some friends drove up Mount Evans today... it was snowing at the top and the wind was gusting 30-40 mph. One of the rangers told them that the wind chill was 13 degrees.
