My husband and I are moving with our baby to the Denver/Boulder area the first weekend in October, but we haven't found a house yet, so we need to rent an apartment. Any recommendations for a short-term lease that is not ridiculously expensive? Every place I've called is like $2000/month for a month-to-month lease on a 1-bedroom apartment! We would prefer month-to-month, but we might sign a 2 or 3 month lease. We would like to be somewhere on the north or west side of town, possibly Westminster.

My wife and I have lived in a place called Sunset Ridge (US36 and Sheridan) for four years now. They are currently doing a remodel and I believe a month-to-month is around $1200-$1300. There are only two and three bedrooms and all of them have a huge basement. There's even a playground built especially for kids under the age of five. Mostly younger families but there are people that have lived here for 10+ years. It definately has a community vibe.

If you want more info on the immediate area PM me and I'll fill you in.

Equity Residential offers short term leases. I've lived in a couple of their properties in other states, and have found their prices to be very reasonable for month to month.
