I think he said 17th St, which would mean downtown.

There are furniture rental services, such as Cort, to consider.

Correct, my office is in down town, but I will travel a lot outside the city. I will definitively have a car. I would like an urban environment if possible with easy access to the main highways.

No, I did not find an house yet, but I started to look around through craiglist and padmapper and I downloaded the neighborhood map of the city to start to figure out where to look at. I will stay for the first month in a corporate apartment, so I will have the time to look around on detail once I will move in.

My office will be in 17th St, which looks like quite down town city (at least on googlemaps, lol) but I work as consultant and I will travel a lot in the state and out of state.

We do not plan any kids at the moment (we feel too young, just turned 30, lol) and, by the way, my commitment in Denver is for just 18 months (maximum 2 years):
We are looking for a young adult community at a bike ride distance from services, public transport and green area. We both love outdoor activities in winter (ski touring and alpine ski) and summer (trekking and climbing, and sometimes, mountain bike) so an easy access to the highway outside the city would be a plus.
In that case, I would suggest Lowry or Stapleton. As vegas said, you can rent furniture. Who knows? You may like Denver so much you'll decided to find a job here and quit your Italian job (or not).

Worst case scenario, head to Ikea and get what you need. Then sell it all before you leave. For 18 months, I would prefer to be in an apartment vs some type of corporate housing which has a hotel feel. You will feel cramped after awhile.

If you are going to have a car, there are many options open to you. The only concern I would mention is traffic. Denver traffic can be a pain. A 15 minute trip on a weekend to the office can be 30-60 minutes in the morning and afternoon during the week. I used to live near the Denver Tech Center and it was usually a 30-40 minute trip downtown.
