Relocating from a place where Denver is higher cost of living but I can manage it.

I was looking for more extensive info. Based on the info, I have given. Or a little comfort from the experiences you've had.
What are the nice areas you speak of?

Have you spoken directly with the landlord in those cases? Because there are A LOT of scams on craigslist. (They usually start with someone trying to rent their place out from a foreign country or something.) And how do you know these are nice areas?

Thank you all for replying. Some of what was said I've found to be true, other details way inaccurate specifically about apartments not offering utilities on $400 - $500 range.
It is true the areas there in may be shady so the advice is out there, I do appreciate it.
Now its for me to decide.
