Default Wikipedia climate question

When you search cities on wikipedia(eg. Chicago, IL), in climate, does avg. snowy days mean the amount of days it is snowing or the amount of days there is snow on the ground?

Default White stuff falling from the sky

Don't even worry about snow in Denver.
It is not a big deal unless you are from San Diego.

Snow rarely sticks around for long here. Turns slushy pretty quick most of the time. We get just enough for it to be fun and interesting, but not so much (most of the time) that it's a problem. That blizzard WILL hit eventually, but it's definitely the exception and not the rule.

It's the amount of days that snow falls.

Also don't be fooled into believing that it always melts in a day or two.

Did you see the OP's location profile? It says San Jose, CA. It does not snow there, ever. Asking about snow in Denver is definitely a legitimate concern.

IF the OP makes the move to Denver, that first snowfall is likley to be both shocking AND exhilirating. The second one, probably ... just shocking!

I am from San Diego and the snow has never bothered me. I welcome it.

Aren't those pictures from the Christmas blizzard of '82, a monumentally big snow that went down in the record books?

That's the same picture he trots out every year to show people how Denver is the equivalent of Barrow, AK. I love the Ford Granada and old '70s Mercedes in that picture

Why yes, I think they are:

Denvers Winter/Cold Season Statistics

23.8 inches, third biggest snowstorm since 1946.
