Is your wife familiar with the SCFD? Or was her experience all prior to its formation?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't get the comparison between arts and sports. Unless the point is that Denver is a sports city, and Minneapolis is an arts city. Which I wouldn't agree with.

A better analogy would be that Denver supports the Broncos and Minneapolis supports the Vikings. Both teams, of which have long histories in their respective cities, and very similar fan support.

As far as support for the arts goes, so I hear the that Minneapolis pwns Denver with support for the arts. But I'd love for someone to explain to me, what arts Minneapolis has that Denver is missing. Denver has never seemed to me to me lacking arts.

Not sure of the parentage of Denver, but it is definitely first cousin to Calgary, Alberta!

Denver is not lacking in arts. This may have been the case in the past, but the cultural dynamic of the city has changed dramatically in recent years. Denver is home to the 12 acre large Performing Arts Center, which is actually the second largest in the country after New York City. The 14th Avenue Theater District is currently undergoing a major renovation, which will connect the Performing Arts Center to the Colorado Convention Center.

I don't get the inclusion of Seattle? Is it the outdoorsiness? I do agree about the addition of Minneapolis to the mix.

It's a mix between the smaller Salt Lake City and Columbus and the bigger Dallas and Minneapolis.

It's really nothing like Seattle when you get down to brass tacks.

In Denver's dreams (or nightmares, as the case may be).

Exactly, thats what I was thinking. Also the The Denver Center for Preforming Arts, is nothing new. It was built in the 1970s. So that is not a recent development.

Again I'd be very interested to hear from somebody about what arts Minneapolis has that Denver doesn't.
