Stats:
YTD snowfall: 41.5 inches (updated to include the Jan 10-11 storm that I forgot to add to the totals )
Snow cover days: 57
Snow cover in the shade days: 81
Plume: Dec 1 and counting

The snow at my "snowcover days" reference point finally melted away all the way. "Nice" brown grass in its place. Still a huge glacier in the shade though. I wish it'd stay all year.

While much of the country is freezing its collective butt off, we have been downright balmy. My wife complained about it being "hot" this morning (it was 49F).

It's kind of funny actually, I mod the Seattle forum, and they're having a "Snowpocalypse". Some areas have only had 3 inches lol. Others have had 20.

I also spent much of last night managing (er, babysitting) a courier in Eastern Washington. He spent the night traversing the eastern half of the state in a snowstorm that he called "pretty bad" (2-4 in. were forecast). He sounded like he had a hard time handling it.

It's all just so odd. We're "supposed" to be the ones having that weather right now. I haven't even worn my jacket out at night the past two nights.

January in Denver. If only we could get a BREAKING NEWS headline at the national level to report this kind of "unusual" (er, usual) weather........it might break the myth that we are buried in snow for 9 months a year.

OTOH........maybe it's better we don't.

Nah, but I'm sure they'll report on that Saturday snow dumping in the mountains. Then people will wonder if it's cold and snowy for us in Denver, when we'll really be in the 50s.

We've had 44 inches up here in Ken Caryl. I wondered why your snow totals looked a little low.

At least I've never experienced any ice whenever I was up there.
I've sadly been absent from the area since October due to a little episode at a now former employer.
Seems like it's been nothing but Texas to Washington and back with all their severe ice issues.
I'm currently sitting along the ice-caked 84 outside of Hermiston OR, waiting on a load to take up to Fife WA

I just want to get back to throwing on chains when it's absolutely needed.
And that's why I'm missing it up that way.

There's been a light, misty, icy, sleety snow falling on and off this morning. Looks like it's cloudy/overcast now.

Otherwise, recently, we've had mostly sun, with lots of strong winds.

Yep, we had a negligible amount of snow down here, just enough to make the snow piles white again. I had frozen water droplets on my car, but no accumulated snow.

Friday morning there were light flurries falling, then they turned to those big flakes type usually seen in spring, then it came down fast enough to dust the streets and my car, but about 30 minutes later, just melted snow droplets on my car. So I'll call it a dusting, but more than Tuesday's was. But in the end, still no accumulation.

Yep, I'd say it accumulated up to 1/4-1/2 inch here, but melted away a few hours later. The snow piles got "cleaner" again too.

My "north side of the house glacier" is shrinking, shrinking.... almost gone.
