Samoa has been awfully tempting recently...or maybe the Marshall Islands.

I don't understand why SLC gets an ikea and Denver doesn't. I have a whole bunch of sections of a modular shelving thing from ikea, and want to make a particular large structure, but am short by a few shelf inserts. Very frustrating!

hubby and I are planning a shopping week in SLC. so sad, but they have an Ikea and a few stores for my daughter that they don't have here (she's very skinny and cute clothing is very hard to find). anyhoo, since we're buying a house and installing hardwood floors all over, we need rugs and refuse to buy them and pay tons of money, esp with kids dumping food and drink all over. at Ikea I can find nice kilims and other rugs at very cheap prices (not made by child labor) and I don't have to worry if jr dumps milk or paint on them accidentally. we also need other furniture (for playroom, kid rooms) and if you add it all up, it's much cheaper to drive to utah. sooo sad.

so, we'll be forming a caravan sometime in late april heading west.

go to mapquest, type in the address for cherry creek shopping district. Lots of stuff over there to your taste but not all cheap. this is a good time of year for sales.

Default furniture

Scandanavian Design is pretty good also Z-Gallerie (downtown) - more high-end, but some very cool stuff. Good luck.

You may also like the Roche Bobis International Design Center http://idccolorado.com/ a lot of contemporary and modern furniture. A good selection of Italian leather furniture as well. They are in South Denver/Littleton area.
