We just purchased a home and rereading the paperwork today, I noticed a $250 fee marked, "Selling Agent Commission"----in Colorado does the buyer pay a fee? The seller paid the commission, but I've never see this fee before when buying. Anyone know about this? Is it a Colorado thing?

The title company pays the selling agent a commission for the selling agent bringing them the business.
You don't have to pay it.
When you review all the paperwork BEFORE the closing, you point out to the title company that you will not pay it and they will ignore you as you are not really their customer, the real estate agents are. So, you tell your agent on the buy side to call the selling agent to have him/her contact the title company to remove it.

This is, in its own way, similar to the "doc fee" that car dealers tack onto the sales agreement. You look at them and say: "No".

Which line of the HUD-1 is this on? Is it on the buyer side or the seller's? Did you have a Exclusive Right to Purchase agreement?

I would bet it's an Admin fee you agreed to in the agency agreement.
