This is probably a silly question but being an immigrant to this country I don't know how things are supposed to work so hopefully someone can help me out.

Earlier this year I was laid off from my job and so I filed for unemployment. I got my payments for about three months and I selected to pay federal and state tax on them. Now I'm working full-time again (yippee) but I'm wondering what happens in 2012 when I go to file my taxes: Will I automatically get documentation from my state that shows how much tax I paid on the unemployment? OR will I have to provide that bearing in mind I didn't get any "paystubs" from them - just direct deposit?

I will also post this in the Work & Unemployment forum page.

I received the document from the state on time. I had them take the max out on federal and state, but for some reason it turned out to not be enough on state taxes. So for the full year I had on unemployment, I got back money on my federal return and owed about that same amount on State.
