Hi everybody,

I will be relocating with my wife and 2 year old to Denver next month. My work location will be north of Denver near Commerce city. Can you suggest me some suburbs around Denver with decent number of Indian grocery stores and sizable Asian Indian population.

I will be renting an apartment or town home.

Thanks

1. Welcome to greater Denver.
2. This should help Global Denver
3. Have you looked at the census data? Denver County QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau In this case, the 3.4% Asian includes "A person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent including, for example, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand, and Vietnam." My guess is that the Asian Indian population of greater Denver is less than 1/2%. I also found "As per the 2000 US Census,...Denver proper has a population of roughly 550,000 total residents with 2,240 "Asian Indians." And, of course, Racial and ethnic diversity in Denver - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There is a concentration of Indians living in the areas around Cherry Creek Reservoir. Many of these families live in the Cherry Creek HS, Overland HS, and Smoky Hill HS attendance areas, as those high schools have populations of Indian students enrolled.

There are also Indian stores and shops in the vicinity of Peoria St and Parker Rd.

Thank you very much for the information. Can you tell me what is the typical commute time from around cherry creek reservoir to Commerce city? Google maps estimates less than 30 minutes. Is this realistic estimate during peak hours (7am & 5 pm)

I guess it depends on where in Commerce City.

For a trip up Peoria or I-225 to Quebec or I-270, 30 minutes seems about right. Traffic is always worse in the afternoon though.
