My husband, toddler age child, and I will be packing our bags for Denver this Spring. We are very excited about this new assignment, but we have no friends or family in the area to use as resources so I'm looking for some help! Here's a little bit about our situation:

-My husband will be working in downtown Denver by the Tivoli Student Union. I am an RN and I'm open to working anywhere as long as the commute isn't too bad.
-We are looking to rent: We would like to spend no more than $1,900/mo. on a single family home in a newer neighborhood if possible.
-Since we have a kiddo, we're ovbiously looking for an area that is family friendly, safe, close to shopping/restaurants, and outdoor activities.
-Because my husband is active duty we will receive all non-emergent medical care at Buckley AFB. We won't be going very often (hopefully haha) but I don't want to be too far away just in case.

Any advice on what particular areas/neighborhoods we should be looking into? Any additional things to consider that I haven't mentioned?

That's about all the info that I know right now. We've never lived in a big city before, but we are open to the possibility of just about anything as long as it's safe and within our budget. Thank you in advance for your help!

I would look at Stapleton, even though it might be difficult to find a single family home for rent for less than $1900/mo. You might have to compromise and rent a paired home or condo. It has the newer construction and it's pretty much between downtown and Buckley and also near a few hospitals, too (Children's, Rose, Presbyterian/St Luke's).

Stapleton definitely looks like a neat area, but I agree about the cost- I think we'd rather look somewhere that will allow us to get more house for the money.
