While not trying to start a thread about the merits of this program or not, I do have a question...

I was in your fine city earlier this month. While traveling up Santa Fe, I passed one of those photo radar vans and the lights flashed. I honestly have no clue if I was speeding--I don't even know what the speed limit was, nor did I take note of my speed. I was just "going with traffic."

If I was speeding, fine, I accept responsibility for my actions.

Here is the rub... I am from out-of-state, but was driving my employer's vehicle (also plated out-of-state).

I told my boss about the possiblity that I may have got caught speeding so he wouldn't be caught off-guard in the event a ticket showed up in the mail at HQ. The bosses were none to happy, and I'm being punished already, even though I may or may not have actually been speeding.

However, nothing has shown up yet. I'm hoping that maybe I wasn't actually speeding, or that because it was a fleet plated vehicle from another state, Denver PD won't bother to try to mail a ticket.

What is the normal turn-around time for those tickets to show up? Does anybody know if they send them to non-Colorado plated vehicles?

Next time, I'll be sure to pay closer attention to the posted limits on Sante Fe so I know if I was speeding or not. (I'm just a country hick trying not to get lost in the big city...)

Thanks for the link! I did see that while searching around for info about the system. The ticket itself isn't a big deal to me, it is more an issue with my employer now.

I'm in trouble, even though I may or may not have actually done anything wrong. If a ticket shows up in the mail, I'm toast and I'll deal with it. However, since I told them they may get one in the mail, I'm already on the poopie list.

That's why I'd like to know how long it usually takes them to mail one out and whether or not they even send them to non-Colorado registrations.

I'd like to be able to know if one "should" have been here by now, and hasn't arrived, then I'm in the clear, and I can use that information to rebut the boss. If it takes them 45 days or something, then I'll just have to sweat it longer.

I guess I should have kept my mouth shut and tried to hide it rather than be honest and up front with my employer.

My mom got one from the city of Sheridan about two months after the alleged violation.

What are the limits for photo-radar in the Metro area? Are you OK going 5 mph over the limit or will it catch you if you are even 1 mph over?

Arizona has some crazy laws; down here photo-radar only snaps a pic if you are going 11+ mph over the limit. Of course this means if you are caught you are going to get a BIG ticket and don't even get me started on the red light cameras...

The red light cameras up there sound like they are
