we too are moving from SoCal to Highlands Ranch. We have friends that live there and in Littleton and Centennial areas and love them. It seems the schools in Douglas county and Arapahoe County are both great. I think Arapahoe schools in the SouthGlenn area of Centennial are rated the highest but not by much as all areas seem to have great schools and sports programs. My kids are older but we will be sending them to either Highlands ranch high or Thunderridge high.

They are in the same district. I don't think there is a big difference. Our school has about 20-25 kids/class. The most popular soccer clubs in this area are Real Colorado and HRSA "Hattrix". My kids play baseball through Highlands Ranch Metro Districts. I'm not sure about the more competitive leagues around. The biggest difference between HR and CR is that CR is a stand alone city. HR is an unincorporated community that is more an extension of Littleton and the Denver metro area.

I believe Arapahoe is in the Littleton school district not Douglas County.

I know this is an older thread, but check out the DTC area of either Sundance Hills or Arapahoe Lake. You can't go wrong on great communities, schools, pools, walking trails and nice homes.
