I'm flying from DEN Monday on an 8:25 AM flight. My flight leaves from Concourse B. The main security lines are long (30 minutes) on Monday mornings - typically extending out to the baggage area. Last week I flew from Concourse A on Frontier and was able to walk from the terminal to Concourse A without taking the train and by going through an independent Terminal A security line. Coincidently, since last week's flight was Tuesday afternoon, neither security line (main, Concourse A) was long.
Question: Has anyone, on day with a bad main security line, tried walking to Concourse A, go through its security line (with the assumption that it is quicker, less than 30 minutes), then hop the train from Concourse A to Concourse B or Concourse C? The point is to bypass the main security line by using Concourse A's security line. I guess another question is will the TSA people at the Concourse A security line allow you to enter the line with a boarding pass on a flight leaving from Concourse B or Concourse C? |

Yup. It's a quick scan for us anytime we fly. There are more scanners/people on the terminal side - but fewer people going to A. Wear walking shoes.

Not that bad of a walk as I recall. Plus you get the nice view of the airport through that walkway. I'll try Monday.

TSA or some baggage handler needs to learn how to use the zipper on my luggage. When you're done down there, zip it back up idiots!
Hail to the Concourse A shortcut. |

I did the Concourse A shortcut a few times and it worked out better.

Personally, I doubt they differ much as far as how long you have to stand in line. I've seen very long lines on the A checkpoint too. I'd check which one looks longer, and remember the main line has a few more machines. As far as I know, they don't care which concourse you're going to; after all, you can access any of the concourses from any other one, so there's no security reason to care.

I recently moved to Denver but have already flown out of here a handful of times and I would just advise that you not ask any security personnel if it is OK. In other words, just do it. We made the mistake of asking if it was OK to go through security at A and take the train to a different terminal and they said no. You probably wouldn't do that, but just thought I'd mention it

Do they still have the "express" line for people with just one carry-on bag at the main security line?

Maybe they only have it during high season?
