Graphic Design jobs in Denver area
I'm moving to Longmont,CO towards the end of September for a brief period of time until I find a graphic design job. I am seeking a graphic design position preferably with an agency. I have 5 years experience with a large and a small size graphic design agency. If anyone knows of such a position please let me know
Thank you in advance

ekkers,
"Welcome soon" to Colorado! It may be hard to look for this type of work in Longmont. You would need to look primarily in the Boulder area (and Denver too, but that is way too far to compute on daily basis).

I am a graphic designer as well and will be moving to the Denver area mid November. Most of the jobs I have seen are in the Denver/Boulder area as ColoWeb mentioned. I have seen many ads for web/multimedia designers, but not so much for the print part, which is more of what I am interested in.
With 5 years under your belt, you shouldn't have a problem finding a good job. Just keep checking the usual places.

I am also looking to move to Denver and am having a hard time trying to find a graphics design job in either Boulder or Denver. I have 3 years of experience as an in-house design and IT person for a private school and tons of freelance experience, but it seems most of the midsize and up firms want you to have more experience working for a smaller design firm first. It's silly really. If you guys find anything, let me know. The problem with trying to find a job before you live somewhere is that you really don't know who's really who, reputations, geography, etc. Best of luck to you all !
Cheers,
Dan

I too am thinking of moving to Denver sometime this fall. I am actually visiting Denver in two weeks and I am also a Graphic Artist. I have about a year of work experience in graphic design, so I am looking for an entry-level position. I am more interested in print design than web design. I have seen a few listings on Craigslist. If you don't mind temp work for awhile, The Creative Group is a temp agency that specializes in creative jobs.
I hope to find something before I move there. Best of luck to the rest of you. I'm sure you all will find what you are looking for.

I know someone with a degree in graphic arts who works at a Dairy Queen. I am not making this up.

Wow many Graphic Design jobs people out there looking to move. Good luck to everyone!
Visit Denver first, look around.
Make sure you have a good portfolio to show off. I know photoshop too and do web-design but I still would not call my self an artist. By showing off your good work, that would be the best way to distinguish yourself from others.
Good luck again.

I have been checking indeed.com for jobs, varying my search terms. Craigslist is good as well. I only have 2 years experience so I'm just starting the mid-career level.
Caramelboo: We just got back from visiting the Denver area last week. It was as beautiful as everyone keeps saying. I would try out for a temp job but unfortunately my boyfriend can't afford an apartment on his own.
Dan: I agree with you on the reputation point. I wouldn't want to start working for a company that might go under in a year or two. I do not have any experience working for a design firm either, so it seems we are in the same boat on that. Good luck to everyone!

I don't live in Denver now but I lived there a few years ago and I found quality
design jobs very hard to find. I am a 3d designer and not a graphic designer
but I've worked in a few graphic design offices. I also found Phoenix not to
be a great place to find design jobs. For me it was California (bay area and
the monster LA area) and then of course the upper midwest and east coast.
Not enough large corporate activity in the west outside of California and
maybe Washington state. Portland, Ore also had a lot of graphic designers as well.
Good luck in Denver. I forgot to mention but several of my graphic design
friends have great jobs in Atlanta. I found working as a industrial designer
it wasn't always easy to pick the city I wanted to live in but I was always
looking for the higher paying design jobs.
