After living in San Diego for 16 years, I do feel sorry for Trevor Hoffman. He's a real standup guy. However, with the run Colorado has had, I'm glad they found a way to get into the playoffs.

I had got home late tonight and figured I was going to hear the final score on the radio driving home. Extra innings! So it's like the 11th inning and Mrs McGowdog reminds me that the Padres pitcher is a friend of the family in eastern Colorado! So it would be bittersweet to see the Rockies win the game against him.

What's a good example of bittersweet? Oh! Ok. It's like seeing your ex-mother-in-law back off a cliff in your favorite sportscar!

WOW! What a game! Will there be anything left for Wednesday!

Go Rockies!

Congrats to the Rockies, they definitly deserved it. If they continue this I don't see any reason why these guys couldn't make it to the World Series. They have a no give up attitude and it certainly showed tonight. The Padres thought they had it won after the Hairston HR but the Rockies didn't give up.

The JVBL (Junior Varsity Baseball League) also known as the National League is an absolute joke so I think the Rockies could make it. I'd like to see it happen. No matter what we are going to get someone new in the WS this year from the NL at least. Colorado has never been in it, Arizona hasn't been since '01 and this is a completely new team, Chicago hasn't been in most people's lifetimes, and Philly hasn't been since the early 90's. Should be an interesting playoffs this year. I'm hoping for Arizona/Colorado/Chicago vs. the Yankees.

Wow! That was quite a finish. These Rockies have not gotten a lot of love from Denver until lately, but they deserve a lot. These guys have really played their hearts out. I really hope the Monforts pay up to keep the team together, with the 2nd lowest payroll in MLB, they will need to do so.

From this point on, anything can happen. With the way these Rockies are playing, they can probably compete with anyone -- they're already 3-0 against the Yankees this year, so if they get that far, who knows?

It was quite a game.....I am sitting here at work exhausted, not so much from lack of sleep but from all of the emotional ups and downs of last night. Being at Coor's Field for the celebration was great though.....still not Comerica Park, but closer!

Can't wait to do it all over again this weekend!
