Just sending condolences from Minnesota. I have a very good friend in Westminster. He loves Denver.

Just such a tragedy.

This is an interesting thread. First time I've seen a thread like this set up on city-data. I was surprised to see my post moved from the general thread on the shooting to this one, but the idea has grown on me and now I'm glad the mods set this up. It's interesting to see the outpouring from people across the forums, one after another, and I guess these thoughts were probably getting a bit too common on the other thread about the shooting. Too many short posts sending support and prayer can be a blessing, but also annoying after awhile, I suppose.

But we need to wake up, we NEED to be angry!!

This is senseless, absolutely senseless.

I feel for and pray for the families, including the parents of the cowardly punk that took these people's lives away while making sure he did not get so much as a hangnail.

That was the idea, a thread that is free from the raging debates and angry words that are, and will, surround this event.

This thread is a place of solace where only kind thoughts are to be posted.

Sending best wishes from Minnesota. These sort of things just never quite do make sense.

When something so horrific and shocking like this happens, what else can you think or say? It really is what most people are feeling. Speaking for myself, my immediate reaction upon learning of the tragedy was to pray. After the horror had sunk in, I am still thinking about this tragedy and the victims and the families, and still praying for them. So, even if it is "annoying", it is the truth - these folks are in my thoughts and prayers.

My brother was in town this past weekend and we planned to see the movie. It was even suggested to me Thursday night that I should go to a midnight showing. I think Century 19 may have been one of the only theaters near me that was playing the movie at midnight. I am so glad we waited until Friday morning.

I'm not a religious person, but I send my well-wishes and thoughts out to the victims, their families, and anyone who has been touched by this incident. I plan on going over to the ad hoc memorial, perhaps today on my way from work. Not sure I'll be able to hold it together, but I'd like to pay my respects nonetheless.
