It's going to depend on where you want/need to stay in the metro area. Just use expedia; you can search by stars and cost. Be careful though, many cheap extended stay places have been in the news with bed bug issues.

There's the Roach Motel and the Motel Gotell on E. Colfax. Cheap but they make up for in sleaziness!

Do you care if the CHEAP motel is in a really crappy part of town and occupied by really questionable people?

Yes, but the meth lab in the next room will kill the bed bugs.

Ill be sure to keep an eye out for those bed bugs. and no, I do not care where or how bad it is. although I'd preferably like to find somewhere thats not TOO bad. So if anyone knows a place thats CHEAP and I don't have to worry about carrying a gun on me, that's what I'm trying to find

As have many high end places. Bed bugs aren't exclusive to price and demographics.

Oh - and why not look at a short term rental or airbnb.com If you can swing a deposit you might find something in that price neighborhood, and with a kitchen too.

I'd definitely try Priceline to see if you can get a deal on a long stay. Most likely you will end up in a long-term suites place anyways, going with Priceline might improve your surroundings a bit.

This is one place:
Homestead Studio Suites Hotels - Select a Room, Discount Hotel Rooms
Might be a bit more than you wanted to pay but they do offer weekly and monthly discounts.
I stayed there just for a night. It wasn't great but it wasn't really bad either. One of the cheapest places I found near Denver.

Thanks guys for all the input I really appreciate it. I'm gonna look in to everything you guys posted. Obviously I don't want to live in a hotel, I am trying to find a room to rent but craigslist isn't getting me responses. Are there any other ways I could go about finding a room to rent? And anybody else who can recommend hotels that aren't in the ghetto yet affordable? I found a whole bunch of cheap hotels on e. colfax but I've heard a lot of bad things about that part of town
