OK, I am going to assume you mean: west of I-25, east of the mountains, north of Fountain, south of Fort Collins. In that case, try Berthoud or Loveland. Maybe Longmont or Erie could be considered too, but they're in Boulder County, so I don't think they will be quite as cheap.

Actually, the price generally is going to increase steadily as you get closer to downtown Denver from Fountain: Fountain is less than Colorado Springs, which is less than Monument, which is less than Castle Rock, which is less than Highlands Ranch, which is less than Greenwood Village, etc, etc.
Once you get past downtown Denver, the suburbs will drop in price, though Boulder and Boulder County are pricey. Berthoud and Loveland are then relatively cheap, as the previous poster said, but not AS cheap as Fountain and parts of COS are. But to answer your original question, Fountain is going to be probably be the absolutely cheapest spot, though if you head further south to Pueblo that will no doubt be cheaper yet. |

Golden and Evergreen are both considered relatively expensive, and particularly so when compared to towns like Loveland.
