Employment for Professionals in Denver?
Hello,
I am interested in moving to the Denver area. I love the 4 seasons, the snow, skiing and the outdoors. I have been reading the threads on this forum for the last several weeks and thought I would join in the discussion. I wanted to know what the possibilities are for a CPA to find a job in the Denver area?
Thanks

I am looking to potentially move in Spring or Summer 2008 and have just begun to do more research. I have weekly updates on careerbuilder.com, and monster.com. I assume CPAs are needed everywhere, but would like to find the best opporunity. I will probably want to go with a headhunter eventually. Any pointers for best places to look or seek out advice?
Thanks

I have daily job updates from careerbuilder & monster, one using key words accountant OR tax (I'm not a CPA). There are multiple listings coming in the email daily - new ones, not repeats. Ernst & Young had 11 listings in this morning's email, Clifton Gunderson was next with 8 listings (57 listings total in today's email). From what I can tell, there appears to be a good market for accountants in the Denver area.

Thanks.
What are the major banks in Denver (which are not just branches)? I am aware of Wells Fargo.

I would say pretty good. My nephew used to work for Ernst and Young in the Denver Tech Center. They have a lot of accountants, according to him.

i'm a cpa considering a move as well. the market is very good in denver if you want to "practice" as a cpa in a cpa firm. all the big firms have offices there - E&Y, PWC, D&T, KPMG, GT and regional firms BKD plus local firms that i'm not aware of.
i'm not sure about industry because i haven't been looking. like you said - cpa's always in demand

Have you tried Robert Half Finance and Accounting?
Roberthalffinance.com
They have always had jobs for CPAs in the past.
Also try to join Linked In - It's a source for networking.
You can also try sorcesolutions.com
