Just returned from a short trip to Denver and checked out some rentals since we sold our home in MA and have decided to rent in the Littleton area where some family and friends reside.
My question is that I always thought CO was much more pet friendly than MA but almost everyplace I have found on the internet does not allow pets. I am looking to rent a fairly new townhouse before deciding if we want to buy.
I have been on quite a few websites and most response was no pets.
Is it possible to find newer places with a dog and cat. I realize that pets can be a problem so I do understand the conern.
Any suggestions as to other websites out there or rental agents who would be of some help would be appreciated.
Thanks all.

Private rentals are sometimes more amenable to pets than large complexes. You may find some of those on craigslist, also in the classifed ads in the Denver papers, and by driving around the area where you wish to rent looking for "for rent" signs.

An acquaintance of mine got a letter from a previous landlord stating he was a good pet owner, and the pet was a good "tenant", e.g. didn't tear up the property.

We found our rental on Craigslist, and our landlord allowed us to have a cat with the understanding that we would pay for any damage she might inflict. We introduced him to our pet, and offered to pay to have the carpets cleaned twice a year. He agreed with no hesitation.

Good luck.

I rent in an apartment in a large complex. Pets are allowed here. I have two cats.
I was not aware that finding apartments that accept pets was an issue. Good luck to you.
