Where do the families who live in the Highlands send their kids to school? From my research the DPS schools in that area are not that great. We like that area, just not sure what to do for our girls (Pre-K & 4th grade).

1. Private.
2. Edison Elementary. Ignore the ratings and talk to upper-middle class people who send their kids there.
The scores reflect the average of "rich white kids" and "poor hispanics". YMMV.

Which private schools?

I have 'heard' Edison is a good school. But is it only the HGT program that gets the kudos? My eldest does not fit that bill, but my youngest is leaning that way. What happens after Edison? Private? We're in private now, and as much as I love the school, I hate the bill.

PS - what's YMMV?

Default Your Milaeage May Vary

1. I have no clue about private schools. Our daughter went to Saint Annes and then Colorado Academy. We spent a lot. We made a lot back then.

2. Talk to Edison parents. They are there every day outside the school.

3. Denver's middle schools are the weak spot. Hopefully will get better.
We have friends (2 families) with kids at Morey and they are happy. Both kids went to Bromwell for K-5.

Thank you for the insight. I think middle is weak no matter what large city you live in. It's a tough age.....

Just looked at CA's tuition rates!! I remember my parents complaining about the $7,000 a year bill when I went there for middle school in the late 80's. it's up to $20K now!
