I'd say more than 50% of the houses in Stapleton have mud rooms, so they're definitely coming back into style. I want a nice big one with the cubbies for each member of the family.
Ugh. I don't know what we'd do without ours. Dog + 2 kids....it's a life saver.

Wife and I were just talking about that. We plan to pound math and science in to our kids so they can get in and save us $30K a year on private schools.

Seriously though, it's a great option. I hope it is as highly rated as the one in Stapleton.

I think given the elementary schools its getting the kids from, it will be a very attractive option. We pay that much in tuition now - and as much as I love my daughters school, I hate getting that bill.

I think (and hope) you're right. We already pay enough of a premium to live where we do. Don't want to have to add private school if it it can be avoided.

Your house is similar in layout to mine. You will have coats all over the house for years to come, even when the kids come home from college! I did set up a boot/shoe cubby right by the garage door.

@Mike: Loving the mud room thread!

Aren't these charter schools admission by lottery?

You are absolutely right. I just looked at the requirments and it is straight lottery. I thought there was an acedemic component as well.

Yes, but they're pulling 70% of the kids from the schools I mentioned. They're also part of the choice process now. The only academic requirement I saw was math summer school for all incoming 6th and 8th graders.
