We are moving to the Denver area in June and I wanted things for the kids to go to. Is it worth it to buy a season pass to any amusement park? Thanks for any help

Depends on where you are going to live and how you plan on the kids getting there. If you are going to be near a light rail then getting there isn't a problem. I have never been to Elitches but I hear it can get pretty crowded.

How old are your kids? I got my kids (and myself) passes a few summers ago and they were too young to get dropped off so I had to go with them every time. Now, I am considering getting my two older boys (10 and 12) passes for the summer and dropping them off with their buddies while I run errands. Elitches does get very crowded. They have a water park within their amusement park which helps. I would take the kids to one or the other and set the day as a water day or a rides day. That way we weren't dealing with bringing changes of clothes, etc. A nice option is to go later in the afternoon and stay into the evening. Daytime at Elitches can get extremely HOT. They offer family 4-Packs that pretty much pay for themselves in 1 1/2 visits. I'd say try it...it's not the biggest investment you'll ever make

I have had season passes for a few years for the kids and their cousins. I only recently let my 16 year old go with friends without an adult.

Last year a group of teenage guys followed our girls around for a couple of rides, some comments were made, it made them very uncomfortable. The girls told an employee they were being bothered. Security show up quickly, and they called me (I was in the water park.) The situation was resolved before I could get there a half a park away.

I wouldn't let anyone under that age go alone. Way too many risks of the unknown.

I think it is worth it. Elitch Gardens is one of my favorite places to have fun.

Yes! We are about 15/20 minutes away and I drop my 12year old son there for the entire day in the summer. He goes t least twice a week.

No- overpriced, overcrowded and overrated.

What happened to kids just riding bikes or skateboards?
