Any banks you know of that will accept cash for a cashiers checks if I'm not a member?

You can take it to the bank where the cashiers check was drawn on (ie. issued the check) and cash it there.

If the bank is the First Bank of Nigeria or some such, it is very likely a dead check. This means it has no money behind it. That darn Nigerian Prince keeps moving his money around.

Maybe a money order is the way to go? You can get them at any King Soopers, but I think there is a $500 cap per mney order so if you are talkin g $20,000 this could be inconvenient.

Thanks folks. I have cash and wish to send a cashiers check to my bank so kind of having a hard time finding a spot.

Sounds like you need a new bank

I would just go to the UPS store and deposit it into my USAA account (for instance).

Or does western union do wire transfers like this?

You can buy a money order at the post office and that will usually be just as good. They will accept cash from anyone.

7-Eleven will. Not sure if there is a cap. But they are certainly cheaper than most banks.
