Female needs recommendation for a moderately priced hair salon...one that does good color with highlights...and good hair cuts. It doesn't have to be a Beverly Hills/Cherry Creek type salon. But, am definitely NOT the Floyd's BBshop or Cost Cutters person. If you would like to recommend one of the Cherry Creek upscale salons, I will be open minded, but prefer to spend not more than $90-100 for a color with highlights....tell me, is this possible in Denver? Willing to spend $25-35 for a good cut. My hair is longer and just needs a blunt cut with bangs. I live near Cherry Creek S/C area, so the Colorado Blvd corridor - down to Hampden - would be good...or Wash Park area. Thanks!!

There are two great options for you. One is closer to you, the other a bit of a drive.

There is the Aveda School of Hair Design in downtown Denver. And then there is the Paul Mitchell School in Belmar. I see a phase 2 stylist who has been in school cutting hair for one year, six days a week from morning to night. I pay $15 for a haircut and $45 for a full set of highlights. Both salons are around the same price. I am extremely happy with how my hair turns out each time I go.

Many of my friends now go because of the cost savings and the spa/salon feel.

I do.
And, so does my 91+ father.
If I were bald, that would be GREAT. Zero$ for haircuts. I hate spending money on haircuts.

I 2nd this. I've been going to Paul Mitchell Schools for 8 years; you just have to be really clear on what you want.

Lotsa good posts and suggestions...thanks to all. Received another suggestion not related to CDF...it is Headwaves (on Pearl Street), Wash Park area, stylist name is Marishka.

Went to Paul Mitchell in Belmar. An instructor and a student did my hair. It was highlighted completely differently than what I'm used to with little color contrast between the low lights and highlights...the color leans toward the reds. It takes so many foils to do this type of color that my hair is now significantly damaged, more so than in the past. Will need to use a heavy duty conditioner, which makes my hair too greasy looking. Previous to this, my hair was a more traditional color with a deep brown low light and blonde highlight. Slowly getting used to the new reddish colors and they are growing on me LOL!
