Okay, so I'm from WA and going to transfer to Denver and decided to live in dorm. Now I have problem: place to stay during summer. My current college apt contract ends on 6/30 and my move in day for dorm is 9/6, which means I will need a place to stay from 7/1-9/6. Here I'm asking for advice regarding the house during that period. I'm 24 years old female college student w/t car and planning to get a part/full time job during summer in Denver so prefer somewhere is convenient and safe. Any comments are appreciated. PS: I've tried Craigslist but don't get too much luck so I'd like to know if there any other resources that I can find the apartment for the specific time period? Oh, and I prefer furnished apartment/condo,etc because I will just stay at the place for two months and don't want to buy and then sell all the furniture...

Posting in a forum and emailing people saying you live in another city isn't going to get you a place. You have to do that in person. Worry about it once you get to Denver on 7/1, and have a week's worth of hotel costs saved up. And of course a laptop with wifi.

Looks like your only option is renting out someone's room in their personal home. They will want to meet you. For social purposes, you may want to consider finding other college-aged people to share an apartment with.

Contact your college's housing department. It is possible that they can help you out. It is likely that you can either sublet from someone who has signed a year lease until September but will be gone for the summer or you can be put in touch with a landlord who has students who are moving out at the end of the school year, but don't have anyone moving in until the beginning of the school year.

You can also check different agencies (including craigslist) for short term rentals.

PS. Which college? That will help narrow the area.

I don't know how much you are looking to spend but you could try a company called oakwood, my husbands company works with them for short term furnished rentals. They are cheaper per day than a hotel, and they put you in a furnished apartment.
