Greetings all,

I will be moving to Denver from Washington, DC in late June. Although I'm not expecting a similar experience in Denver as I had in DC with regards to a robust variety of social activities and nightlife, I have no idea of what life is like in Denver outside of the normal 9-5 work day. I am particularly interested in places that attract a diverse professional crowd (i.e. happy hours, lounges, bars, etc.).

Denver has a very active social scene. You should be fine. I would suggest you ask some questions about different parts of town though.

Downtown is very lively. Blake Street and Market Street near the ballpark is all the rage on a Friday or Saturday night. Tons of bars and clubs to choose from there.

thanks all!!

Brown - I don't know enough about various parts of town to even ask the right questions...lol. I've only been there once for my final interview a few months ago. I will be back for a week next month.

Try searching on Find Meetup groups near you - Meetup There are hundreds of Meetup groups throughout the Denver metro area that get together for everything from happy hours to hiking...multiple things for all interests outside of the normal working hours of the day. Denver is a great city.

bishopjdw: I'd look into Captiol Hill, Golden Triangle and Lower Highland.

The Belmar area is about it for Lakewood, that I know of at least. It's one of those fabricated town centers with bars, shops, and restaurants. If you're familiar with Stapleton, kind of like that.
