Damn.... That's sad!

Let's see...after I left, CO went stoooopid on gun control, Raised rents, legalized MJ and closed Caldonia's.... I'm thinking there's not many reasons to ever come back!

It's all relative I suppose. I go to Vegas for work a lot. You can keep it. I went to
Cal's a lot in the 90's, but hadn't been there for years.

Quirks, related to the OP's list:
1. Registering a car costs a fortune
2. No vehicle inspections (only emissions)
3. Too many liquor stores
4. Sales tax on grocery store food

Other quirks:
1. Almost everyone is tattooed, even "normal" people
2. It can be 80 degrees one day, then snow the next day
3. There's no good pizza
4. When rain is forecast, everyone is happy about it
5. People wear shorts, regardless of temperature

Default Some more

Quote:
4. Sales tax on grocery store food
c) Gas heating everywhere.
7. Know that Colfax is the "BAD" road.
8. Know that Casa Bonita is only good for kids, and to never order food there.
-85 octane gas
1. No state sales tax on food designed for home consumption. But, some cities (not Denver) tax food.
2. The many sales tax jurisdictions will boggle your brain.
3. The only fuel used for heating is gas. Actually not true. Propane is used where gas service does not exist.
4. Colfax Avenue is not a road, but the "longest street in the USA".
5. You must order food when going to Casa Bonita. The food is bland and certainly not Mexican (nor Tex-Mex).
6. Regular gas is 85 octane due to altitude. Same gasoline as elsewhere.
7. You get your car's license plates from the county you live in.
8. You get your driver's license from the State of Colorado (cash only).
9. The State does have a candy tax of 2.9%, but Kit-Kat bars are food, not candy.
10. Grocery stores sell beer, but only if it is 3.2% alcohol or less. For real beer, you have to go to a liquor store.
11. ZIP Codes (and associated postal addresses) are only vaguely related to municipal boundaries (cf, Englewood).
12. Homosexuals cannot get married, but they can have civil unions.
13. You cannot bring a gun magazine of more than 15 rounds into the state.

Actually you can't have ANY gun magazine that has a removable baseplate.

Black ice

Snowblindness

Hail

Instant Whiteouts

Burn restrictions for fireplaces

Watering days

You know something is wrong when Denver has more strict watering restrictions than Las Vegas. Maybe we should just cut you guys off!

Some of these aren't 100% true.

8. Not cash only, paid with credit for all DMV, title related items when I moved here

10. Most grocery stores sell 3.2% beer, some flagship stores like the Safeway in Littleton have a full liquor store and sell everything.

13. After July 1st anyway

Colorado Springs is referred to as The Springs. We have smog checks here for emissions. Most people cut out of work Friday at 3 for happy hour or just leave if they don't drink. You will see some people wearing short and t shirts the day after it snows if it's sunny. Weather changes often here. There is a saying there is no bad weather in CO just inappropriate clothing.

Default Not true

Incorrect

Some concerns about the law prohibiting the sale, transfer and possessing of large-capacity ammunition magazines might be eased by a legal opinion released Friday by Colorado Attorney General John Suthers and Department of Public Safety Executive Director James Davis. Gov. John Hickenlooper instructed the officials to provide the technical guidance on how law enforcement agencies should interpret and enforce the law.
Just because a magazine has a "removable baseplate" does not mean it falls under the law's definition of a large-capacity magazine "designed to be readily converted to accept more than 15 rounds of ammunition," the guidance says.

Default 100% True

You paid the County for your plates with a credit card.
The State takes only cash (or a check) for your driver's license.
See my #7

In Colorado, there are two completely separate DMVs.
One at the county level.
One at the State level.

Department of Revenue - Division of Motor Vehicles:Registering a Vehicle

It is confusing.
Sometimes both DMVs are in the same room (e.g., Lakewood, Jefferson County), but they are physically and legally separate.
Sometimes both DMVs are in the same building (e.g., Peoria Street, Denver County), but different rooms.
