I used to live in Texas, so I know what you mean by good mexican. To find the good mexican you have to go into the neighborhoods with the spanish speakers on the east part of Colfax in Aurora. Lupita's Restaurant (on Colfax near Peoria). It's family style and been around forever. I know people are afraid of this neighborhood, but I work close to there and have eaten at Lupitas numerous times with no issues. Try it you won't regret it.

When I was out in the Denver area in July, I went with my Sister-in-law to a Mexican Restaurant in Golden called El Señor Sol. I thought it was very good, and ranked up there with many of the places I've eaten in Southern California. If I remember correctly, they have something like five locations in the Denver area, though the one in Golden is the only one I've tried. I would recommend it based on my one experience there. I'll try it again next time I'm out there and see if it's still as good.

I am a food addict and am constantly reading reviews and trying to find the best of everything. Here's my two cents
Mexican: Bennys, Taqueria Patzquaro, Tacos Jalisco (just east of 38th and Sheridan). Also like Sabor Latino Asian: New Saigon, Thai House (80th and Sheridan), Spicy Basil on Broadway, Imperial for Chinese. I want to check out Kings Land for Dim sum. Italian: love the new Osteria Marco in Larimer Square. Luca d"italia is great but really pricey. Stella's in Highland Square Middle Eastern: Damascus on Colorado just south of Evans is sooooo unbeliveably good - they make their own pita and now I can't eat anywhere else. Sushi: Fontana or Sushi Sasa Burgers: Cherry Cricket for sure American: Duo, Mead Street Station, Bang, Rocky Mountain Diner, Gelmans, Ted's Montana Grill in Larminer Square German: Cafe Berlin Ethiopian: Arada on Sante Fe Pizza; Protot's on Platte Street Breakfast: Duo, Mona's, Lucilles. |

Baja Fresh is my favorite! No can openers, no microwaves, no freezers is their motto.
They have a salsa bar with 4 different types of salsa. Best of all, it's a fast food environment, meaning you don't have to hassle with food servers, etc. |
