Default Tallyn's Reach?

Hi all,
I've read all the threads here about SE Aurora, specifically Tallyn's Reach. My husband really wants to move there - he currently works from home, but if he ever has to venture out into the real world, he'll probably get a job in DTC. He fell in love with the area and is trying to convince me to move.

We currently live in Stapleton, which I absolutely love. The people are amazing, the school is top-notch and I just really feel at home here. Plus, now would be a horrible time to try to sell our house, I'm sure we'd be losing some money - how much, I don't know. But Tallyn's Reach is a lot more affordable than Stapleton, so it would probably even out.

So, for those of you familiar with Tallyn's Reach, what can you tell me about what it's really like to live there? What about Coyote Hills Elementary school? I went and visited it yesterday and it seems really great, and I know Cherry Creek schools are great in general. As I mentioned before, the schools here in Stapleton will be hard to beat, we are very happy with them.

Also - the home we are considering is by Meritage, does anyone know anything about that builder? We hadn't heard of them before, but it seems like a good quality home, but it would be nice to hear from people who have more of an inside scoop.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Stapleton is a hot neighborhood and property is selling. How much you make depends on when you bought.

I haven't had any complaints about Meritage from my buyers...just make sure you get the property inspected.

Meritage builds in Parker, Newlin Meadows also.

I don't live there, but I can see it from here. I like the houses much more in Tallyn's Reach because they are not as close together as Stapleton. The commute to DTC is quite slow unless it's close to 470 and he can take the toll road to work.

Amenities are now nearby with the new Aurora service center and Southlands, but that's it. The Tallyn's environs are beautiful with naturally-growing pines. Coyote Ridge is so new, it is what the current students have made it, and that's good. Cherokee Trail has turned into a first-rate high school.

One 'downside' is that winter maintainence is slow in that area compared to other places in Aurora, however, that is way ahead of Denver's. The feel is much more "suburban" than Stapleton, but also 'safer'.
