Yes, it's been up and running for several months now, however, it doesn't go into downtown Golden.

What about the Bradburn Village neighborhood in Westminster (South of 120th between Sheridan and Federal)? It is supposed to be a walkable, new-urbanism-style neighborhood, and it's right next to Broomfield. I have no idea what rent prices are like though.

Oh Golden.. I spent many years commuting from Golden to Boulder. Outside of the *occassional* winter snow storm, and the day after when the winds would blow snow all over the highway and close it down, living in Golden was a treat.

It is a lot quieter than Boulder and Denver, with very little to no nightlife.

While Golden has the School of Mines, the student population is nowhere as overwhelming as it is in Boulder.

Golden wants to be a small town, an oasis from the 'busyness' of Boulder and Denver. It will fight tooth and nail to prevent the Northwest Parkway from building, as well as excessive commercialization of the downtown.

It has the benefit of being at the base of I70 going west, which saves you the CO-93 traffic coming from Boulder during ski weekends and summer (camping) weekends.

The only other place I'd live besides Golden is Evergreen, but I like smaller, low-key towns.

If you live directly downtown (basically the city limits, no further south than the high school, or no further north than Ford / 93), Golden can be very walkable.
