Default Developments in Denver???

All,

I'm looking into purchasing a home and I've been told by several people that the Berkely area has tons of new developments (stores, shops, etc.)and Mile High Area is going to be re-developed. Is there any way I can find out plans for up-coming developments? Does anyone know specifically what is being planned for Berkely & Mile High? Also, is there anything new planned for the 5 Points Area?

Not sure where that area is but I know there is a ton of redevelopment going on all over the metro area. Most of the major development is going up along 25 and the light rail transit stops along the way.

By "Mile High", I think you mean Jefferson Park. (I've not heard of anyone refer to the neighborhood as "Mile High.") That's the neighborhood to the north of the stadium, but south of Speer, east of Federal. There is a lot of redevelopment going on in that area, mainly due to its proximity to Highlands. An example of some of the new construction there would be RiverClay Condominums for example. It's expensive. All new construction in North Denver is expensive.

As for Berkeley, it's attracting a similar array of scrapes and loft conversions that we've seen in Highlands, at similar prices (read: astronomical).

I don't know how much money you have to spend, but in my view new construction in North Denver is not a particularly good value for your money. There are updated historic properties there that represent a far better "deal" than anything new.

There will be a boatload of new development in the 5 Points area. Parking lots are being dug up and replaced by condos & lofts, and flats - the buyer I showed two weeks ago was impressed - but thought the whole redevelopment will take a while. It will. If all goes as planned - it will take 10 years - but you can't beat the location - right next to Downtown & a 15 minute walk to Lodo.
