Is the area at East 17th and Colorado Blvd a decent area to live?

Yes. Giant park out your door, easy access to downtown and airport, lots of good restaurants along East Colfax, and a Sprouts a few blocks away and Trader Joes (2014) at 9th and Colorado.

Only negative is intersection of Colfax and Colorado gets congested and a bit unaesthetically pleasing, but there are routes around it during rush hour.

Surf to Crime Statistics and Maps | Denver Police Department

You want City Park for west of Colorado Blvd
South Park Hill for east.

So the house we are considering for short term lease is on Batavia about six houses east of Colorado and one block south of E 17th. Thoughts?

Does the "not for me" mean the area is not for you, or "not for me" in that you don't have safety concerns in that area?

Thank you!!

You may get a little wild life spilling in from Colo Blvd, but overall this is a great area.

I live pretty close to Colfax & Colorado. Love living so close to Sprouts. Sometimes we have homeless people digging through the trash in the alley, if that scares you, but I'm a female who has no fears about walking by myself after dark to the grocery store, liquor store, etc.
