I always pay for the person behind me...when a car full of buddies is behind them...

Of course, thank you!

This happened to me in the Sbux drive through for the first time here in Austin two years ago. My smaller kiddos were in the car to witness it (also got their kid hot chocolates for free, of course). It truly, truly made my day... not to mention what a wonderful opportunity for my kids witness the kindness of a stranger.

An even better way to give is to try giving and don't get caught.

That is just so nice! I love hearing about things like this. One night someone paid for my family's dinner at Chilis. This was so kind and generous--especially considering we have three kiddos.

I love hearing these stories. I agree, it's more fun not to get caught.

It's not a matter of being fun. It's just WJWD.

Don't bring religion into this. I've done this for people many times and I'm not religious at all. I'm willing to bet that most of the people do this only because it is a nice thing to do and they don't think "hmmm, Jesus would want me to buy this coffee for the person behind me." This is about doing something nice for someone. Also, it does mean you can have fun doing this. For instance, try doing this for someone while actually in the store and not through a drive-thru. It IS fun to try and do this without getting caught.

So that is what that abbreviation means. I agree with you. I had somebody do it in the store and before I could thank him he quickly left.

Paying it fwd. "with a twist" :
Having grown fed up with an inconsiderate neighbor down the street, who's minpin doggy keeps defecating in our yard and its owner just leaving it there, I picked up today's mess in the newspaper bag and tossed it into her front yard!
