Does anyone know of a good outdoor ice skating rink (more for a date than hockey) open weeknights in Denver? I'm having trouble finding one.

I believe Cherry Creek north (shopping are north of the mall) has an outdoor rink (at least they had a nice one two winters ago) and I've been to a small rink outdoors in Larimer Square, but that was 11 years ago.

I heard Cherry Creek is closed for the season. Any others that are a little closer to Denver? I would think Denver would have plenty of outdoor rinks...but surprisingly - I haven't found any.

What about Belmar that I posted above?

I haven't heard about Cherry Creek, but there is a lot of construction around there. I looked online and didn't see anything about Larimer Square, so I don't know if they still have that one going.

Does it have to be Denver proper? Because, what about Evergreen? They have a really nice outdoor rink/lake area. You said it was for a date right? Afterwards you could go out for hot chocolate or late night dinner and then go hear a band at the Little Bear. That would be a perfect date night- very memorable.

Evergreen Lake may not be frozen. They frequently close when the ice is not thick enough. I would recommend these two:

WinterSkate in Louisville: Boulder Creek Events

It is really neat. It has been operating for several years now. My DD and I went Sunday. One year we went on Christmas Day. As you can read in the link, they have horse-drawn carriage rides on certain days (around downtown Louisville, but still fun).

Boulder Ice Rink
Boulder Ice Rink

I have also been there and can recommend it. It is near the Pearl St. Mall, so when you are done skating, you can get a cup of hot chocolate (or whatever you desire) in one of the restaurants. Louisville's rink sells concessions, and it is near several restaurants as well.

There is an ice rink being installed at Flat Irons Crossing Mall, but it's not ready yet (as of Saturday, anyway) and not very large.

The Boulder ice rink is really neat. Evergreen is not open yet, it hasn't been cold enough but I agree with you cameraGirl, that would be a very memorable date.
