Hi I'm a 21 y/o male kinda interested in Denver... I'm originally from Rochester Ny (a dump) now living in Portland Oregon...I llike it but it's becoming a bit too gentrified. Not a fan in the least bit I like being able to live within city limits without needing a car and all these hipsters or whatever you call them are taking all the walkable neighborhoods. So how's Denver? Is gentrification present? If so can one still live in the city without being priced out eventually?

Denver is getting very gentrified. I don't think you can escape it in any major American city.

Like Portland, Denver is well known as a desirable city, and that brings gentrification. Seems like you're feeling priced out of the places you'd like to live in Portland. Get on padmapper and see what you can get in your price range in Denver. If you can afford something within a few miles of the city center you should have the walkability and amenities you would like.

Of course, that doesn't mean you'll take to Denver, but that's another question. And yet another question is the whole no-car thing. Denver is a more car-centered place than Portland.
