Default Denver Community Colleges

Can anyone tell me what the better community colleges in the area are. Me and my fiance just started community college here and want to eventually transfer to UC Boulder. We have decided that after this semester we will move out to the Denver/COS/Boulder area so that we can go to community college and be residents so that when we do hopefully transfer to UC Boulder it will not cost us outrageous out of state fees... We've wanted to move out to Denver but didn't know when the time was right. We are thinking that it will probably be over this summer sometime.. Any info is appreciated.

I don't think any of the community colleges have Italian. CU Boulder has locations in both Denver and Colo springs--you should check their courses. No community college course of study around here will be likely to increase your likelihood of getting into law school out here--CU is very competitive simply due to all the out of staters who apply and DU is expensive, and that's it. Also, I just had a lengthy conversation today with a DU law prof who said anyone at the bottom of the class is having a very tough time getting a job out of law school. I graduated in 1985 in the bottom third and it took YEARS to recover. Just not worth the money unless you are in the top quarter.

I would really consider another state perhaps in the midwest, if you really want law school.

All the community colleges have courses that automatically transfer to an in-state public college, with a passing grade. You should consult with an adivsor at the CC. The big ones are: Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College (north area), Red Rocks CC (west area), Arapahoe CC (south area) and I believe there is a separate one in Aurora. I'm not familiar with the community colleges outside the metro area. The Italian major might be hard to pull off at a CC.

Much agreed with pittnurse70, check with the school advisors locally. CC of Denver is on the Auraria campus with also has Metropolitan State College (excellent Criminology program), and the University of Colorado at Denver. A friend of mine, a retired elementary school principal, just went back to school for a paralegal degree. He went to CU Denver and found a job immediately after his 12 month intensive program. With the Community College on the same campus as a University and a State College, you will easily see what will and will not transfer over and the costs of tuition.

DU's law school is one of the best in country but that is why it, and any others of such quality, will be expensive! Not sure of a linguistics programs. Best of luck to you!
