If it's the rental you posted about in another thread, from that location you would not *have* to use 36 - a royal mess of construction nowadays - there are other routes to get to Boulder (and that's a good thing).

Yes. Suzco hit the nail on the head. Royal mess is a good way to put it.

I always take the back-roads into Boulder from Broomfield. A much more pleasant experience. I only take 36 during off-peak times when I need to get to Boulder quickly.

It's all torn up right now, and will be in various places en route for years to come. Knowing CDOT, maybe decades.

We were in a similar position, having to rent a place while out of state although we did make a previous visit where we saw some apartment complexes in the general area we were interested in. We ended up renting at a place in Westminster called Eagle's Landing (Apartments for Rent in Westminster CO - Eagle's Landing Apartments). It was a pretty nice place all else being equal and I can recommended it. They allow pets - we have a cat and there were plenty of other residents with dogs. It's very close to highway 36 so access into Denver and to Boulder is pretty easy.

The complex has a pool and jacuzzi and with summer coming that's nice. The complex has easy access to walking paths and there are parks nearby. Shopping is convenient with Safeway, King Soopers, Target, etc all within fairly close distance.

Good luck with your search!

Hey all,

Sorry for the delay here...

So we made it, and I love this state. It's so beautiful. The drivers are much more friendly than Houston, the weather is great, the laws are sensible, there's tons to do.. Wow. I don't think I'll be leaving any time soon. I think I'm home!

We ended up moving to Broomfield, and we found a pretty nice way around 36. We take a few back highways, I think it's 128 to 93. There are delays on 93 in the morning, but not if you catch it early enough. It takes about 25 minutes total to get to work.

Thanks to all who responded. It was a whirlwind, but I am so delighted to be a new fangled Coloradan.
